This depends on how high you are going. The rule is that for every 4m you go up, you will be 1m away from the wall at the base. Take a look at our Ladder Safety Guide in the ‘Fact Sheets’ tab for more details.

Yes it is, for storage or transport purposes. When using the ladder, the stabiliser should be attached at all times.

You can’t separate the back 2 sections, as these are connected by a safety strap but, you are able to remove the top section on models up to 6.26m. To keep in line with the latest EN131 standard, the top sections of the 7.11m and 7.96m model cannot be removed.

There is no set height, as this can vary depending on the building. On a standard 2 storey property, you are probably looking at a height of between 5-6m. However, please measure properly before purchasing.

A couple of simple methods would be to measure the height of one of the bricks and multiply this by how many there are between ground and where you need to get to. You could also measure the floor to ceiling height on both floors, and simply add a little bit on, to account for the space between the two floors.

Yes they can. The ladders are made from aluminium, so they will not rust if left outside. However if you are storing this way, it might not be a bad idea to put a cover over them.

3 Section Ladders

An extension ladder is widely used due to its ability to reach extra height. However, sometimes that extra open height is not enough, forcing consumers to find an alternative. This is because the higher a ladder is, the more unstable it is.

How do I fully extend a triple extension ladder?

Before extending your triple extension ladder, move your ladder to the place you want to climb it whilst it’s in its retracted, closed length state. If this spot is not stable and level, buy a levelling mat to offset the imbalance. In this state, it is easy to transport and store, as its aluminium metal base makes it lightweight for its size and strength.

Place it against the wall, unlock the sections and use the rope mechanism to initiate section extension for the middle and top section. Whilst the auto-locking clamps will ensure that no accidental retractions happen during use, make sure you engage and check the locks regardless.

What is the best way to position a triple extension ladder?

The ideal angle for stability and user safety is always 75 degrees. For every four feet of ladder height, the base should be one foot away from the wall/structure to achieve this angle. Nonetheless, our triple extension ladder offsets deviations with their enhanced safety components, such as the stabiliser bar and auto-locking clamps.

As for climbing the ladder, make sure you maintain the three points of contact rule. This means that you must always have two feet on the rungs and at least one hand on the ladder. There are addons, such as an attachable platform, that you can use to further increase comfort and versatility. We recommend, however, ensuring you always bring a secure tool belt if you’re to use items.

How do I store an extending triple ladder?

Triple extension ladders are no harder to put in storage than any other ladder. First and foremost, it’s weight is very low for its strength. Furthermore, its telescopic structure allows for easy retraction and extension, and in its fully retracted state it is no bigger than the typical standard ladder.

Its space saving design allows for easy storage even when space is at a premium, and it’s able to be racked on vehicles with little stress or incompatibility issues.

Triple extension ladders’ compactness and ease of storage makes them ideal for both professional and home use. Whilst aluminium is rust and moisture resistant, it’s a good idea to keep it in a cool, dry place.
